♥ Day 65 Mono Orange Juice ♥

Day ♥ 65

Blood Oranges

In 1936, a child
in Hitler's Germany,
what did I know about the war in Spain?
Andalusia was a tango
on a wind-up gramophone,
Franco a hero's face in the paper.
No one told me about a poet
for whose sake I might have learned Spanish
bleeding to death on a barren hill.
All I knew of Spain
were those precious imported treats
we splurged on for Christmas.
I remember pulling the sections apart,
lining them up, sucking each one
slowly, so the red sweetness
would last and last -

while I was reading a poem
by a long-dead German poet
in which the woods stood safe
under the moon's milky eye
and the white fog in the meadows
aspired to become lighter than air.

Lisel Mueller

I must admit to a bit of a penchant for Blood Oranges, especially the really dark red ones from Sicily. I would have to say the juice from Sicilian Bloods is one of the most glorious drinks to have ever passed my lips ♥
At the moment Bloods are not in season in Australia and although the Blood Orange will grow in Queensland, because the Winter does not get very cold, the Bloods will not get such a deep red colour. So the very beautiful rich winey flavour that accompanies the deep rich colour needs a nice cold winter to develop.
Since starting my Orange juice diet, I have had Valencia juice for the vast majority of my daily juice, with just the odd Navel or Honey Murcott.
But as I find each individual fruit to have its own unique taste and flavour, I have never tired from the dear sweet Valencias ♥
I think that looking forward each day to my Orange juice, when the house has been filled with Durian, fresh Figs, Home-grown Mangoes, and local Lychees, is a good indication that the juice is still working for me and fulfilling my needs.
And I do feel very blessed to have had access to so many delightful Organic Oranges. The Organic aspect has been very important to me. It feels good to be consuming Organic fruit from both a health and an environmental perspective, and the Organic fruit feels very precious to me ♥

♥ Day 63 Mono Orange Juice ♥

Day 63 ♥
...And three Fruit Eaters came from the South bearing gifts of Durian...
We have three beautiful fruit eaters staying with us at the moment, Darrick, Jess and Nick, who came from Bryon Bay via Chinatown in Brisbane.

It is lovely to spend time with other fruit eaters. Cappi is having a great time (and enjoying the lovely Durian)  I am having a great time and enjoying the smell of the Durian. But I am still happy on Oranges and look forward to my juice with relish ♥
We had a bit of a beach day yesterday, and the sea air was such a tonic, and deep breathing it felt very wonderful and energising.
We managed to find some good Biodynamic Valencias on the way to the beach, so I have a nice little stock of citrus, plus I am getting an Organic delivery tomorrow morning. So the Organic Oranges continue to be bountiful and very much appreciated.
We are so fortunate in our part of the World to be able to access great quality, nicely sun-ripened fruit.
So Thank You ♥.

I feel that I am going to continue with Orange juice while my body is still eliminating. Otherwise I feel that I would be cutting short some deep-seated cleansing.
My bottom line is that I have energy and endurance and that my body feels that it is in a state of cleansing rather than a state of starvation and deprivation.
I feel that whatever raw diet one is on, listening to the body is vital. We are all very much individuals with greatly varying life histories and differing genetic backgrounds, so what may work well for one person may not be optimal for another.

I feel good physically on the Orange juice, happy mentally, and in a very beautiful spiritual place - and so I feel that an extended mono Orange juice diet is indeed working very well for myself ♥

Fruity Fare ♥
Morning - 7 Organic Valencias, juiced in my mouth
Midday - 3 Honey Murcotts, juiced in my mouth
Afternoon - 3 Organic Oranges, juiced in my mouth.

Fruitful Exercise ♥
1 hour 40 minutes fast walking.

Day 27 Mono Orange Juice.

Day 27.
I spent the day in Brisbane, having a lovely morning with some visiting fruit lovers.
We went to a farmer' market in the heart of town, and the first stall past the door was An Orange Juice Stall!!!!.
Great Orange synchronicity, they had a cool squeezy-type Orange juicer, where the Oranges go in in a line down a chute, and then get pressed; and the juice was delightful.
Cappi was kindly gifted some beautiful Musang King Durian by our friend (Cappi now calls him his best friend!) and although I knew it was a tip top Durian by its smell and colour and appearance, I did not desire to eat it. It smelt divine, and the smell was beautiful to me; maybe that was all I needed from Durian at this time.
I do feel that I would like to take this Orange diet to completion. My longest mono Orange juice diet was broken not because I felt unwell or tired of Oranges, or was tempted by another fruit. It was broken, and I feel prematurely, because friends and family felt that I was losing too much weight.
I felt really strong and well, but I appreciate that those concerned were acting in my interests and were concerned that I may be harming myself.
So, it will be interesting to see what will be the reasons that I finish this Orange juice diet, and whether I feel I have taken it as far as I needed to.
In the evening we had a twilight market stall, just out of Brisbane, it was a lovely market with some great live music. We also got some great live tunes at the farmers' market; Cappi danced so much and had a great double D day—Durian and Dancing!
