Day 49 ♥ Mono Orange Juice.

Day 49 ♥
We had another beautiful time at the beach today, at Bribie Island which I have never visited before.
The water was nice and warm with few waves, so ideal for swimming in.
The sea air felt very fresh and energising. My lungs feel freer and as if they can easily expand more with being on the Orange juice mono diet, so deep breathing the sea air is a real pleasure.
I read some more of Dick Gregory's book last night.
He embarked upon a fast for political reasons and social protest, in his own words:

"What began as an act of social protest - a political act - became in the process of living it a "purifying act" - in mind, body and spirit. As my body was was cleansed of years of accumulated impurities, my mind and spiritual awareness were lifted to a new level. I felt closer to Mother Nature and all her children. I felt more in tune with the universal order of existence."

In 1970 Gregory went on to do an 81 day fast on distilled water. And at the time of writing of his book (1971) he was on a fruit juice fast until the Vietnam War ended.
So what began for Dick Gregory as a reaction against war, changed his health and consciousness for ever.

♥ Happy New Year ♥ Day 35 Mono Orange Juice.

Day 35.
The past two days has felt as though I am eliminating something. My body fat is still reducing (it was 10% when I measured it today). So I feel that it could be some stored toxins that are being released as my body fat is released.
I marvel at how wise the body is in storing anything harmful away from the vital organs, and in the place that the body deems least harmful.
I often get asked, 'What could you possibly have left to eliminate', when people see that I am on a mono juice diet.
I reason that my body had 24 years of eating cooked foods, 14 years of taking allopathic medicines, X-rays when I was in utero and as a child (I had a heart murmer), 20 years of eating dairy, and no years of taking breast milk.
Also I am not an island, I live in a world of farmers who spray their crops, of cars and vehicles which emit exhaust pollutants, of household chemicals and personal deoderants (I only use natural house cleaners but come into contact with other households), of people who spray weedkillers on the paths where I walk, and a whole host of other environmental toxins to which I am daily exposed.
As I say, I am not an island and unless I go and live on one in the middle of the Pacific Ocean then I will still be absorbing a certain amount of toxins daily.
Another factor is that I have never taken a fast or mono diet to completion.
By this I mean to the point where the tongue is perfectly clean.
I feel that I came close in 1995 with my 52 day Orange juice diet. But I have always broken the diet ot fast before this point.
Maybe it is the deepest stored toxins that are the last to come out.
Having said this I still have lots of energy and feel good.
I generally wake between 4am and 5am and am ready to jump out of bed (and start typing my diary from the day before!) My exercises are easier to do than 'normal' and I sleep the best and the most soundly, but need less sleep than usual.

So I am not sure how long I will carry on. I feel like I would like to reach the 40 day mark. The Mangoes on our trees are getting perfectly ripe now, so I feel that they would make a great juice-breaker ♥
Also Queensland Rambutans are coming in, so they are one of my favourites and fresh jammy Figs will soon be in season. So I will have a wealth to choose from when I finish the mono-diet.

Toot Toot! The Orange Juice Train is Leaving The Station

I am boarding the Orange Juice Train.

I am very much looking forward to the journey with you all.
I have got in several bags of locally grown Oranges, from a nearby farm. Toot toot!

It is time... ... to catch the Orange Train.

Day 1

Morning—juice of 3 Oranges, using hand-juicer

—juice of 2 Oranges, juicing with mouth

Lunch—large cup of fresh-squeezed Orange juice from juice bar

Tea—2 Oranges, juiced in mouth.

Day 2

Today was very nice because I got to meet the man who is growing my Oranges. And when I go on a mono diet, I get very close to my chosen fruit.
We have been buying bags of his Oranges from his small farm, from a stall with an honesty box, at the side of the road.
Today we went up to the farm to talk with him.
I bought five big bags of his Oranges for only $2 a bag.

His Oranges are superb, really sweet and tree-ripened with lots of nice little 'ripe' marks on their skins.
He told us that he grows them really naturally—no sprays, fertilizers or chemicals—hurray!
And he is a really nice guy too. So good to connect with the grower of my nourishment.
A very beautiful aspect of living on the Sunshine Coast is year-round access to local, good quality fruit.
I guess the longer I love here the more lovely growers I connect with. This network of fruit lovers, enables me to thrive and I am eternally grateful to them heart

I had—
Breakfast— 5 Oranges juiced by mouth

Lunch— 3 Mandies juiced by mouth

Tea— 4 Oranges juiced with a simple hand-juicer.

Thank You

Love and Peaches,
from Anne XX

Day 4

Breakfast—the juice of 4 locally grown Oranges, juiced in hand-juicer

Lunch—Large cup of fresh Orange Juice from Juice bar

Tea—The juice of 4 locally grown Oranges, juiced in hand-juicer

By nice co-incidence, I got an old 1933 pamphlet in the post today. I had ordered it weeks ago, and almost forgotten about it.
Apparently the guy who sent it, sent it to Ohio instead of Australia, but luckily it got sent back to him. So it arrived via a rather circuitous route.
Anyhow, the booklet is called 'Fruits That Help Keep The Body Vigorous' .
I had no idea what fruits it was about—turns out it is all about the bounties of Citrus fruits. It mentions some studies, in the first part of the twentieth century, that found children given fresh Orange juice in addition to their normal diets, had far less gum disease and far fewer cavities.

Day 5
Breakfast—3 local Oranges hand-juiced, 2 local Oranges juiced in mouth

Lunch—4 Biodynamic Oranges juiced in Breville Juicer

Tea—3 local Oranges hand-juiced

Toot Toot!
Day 6
Having a great trip so far.

Breakfast—the juice of 3 local, naturally-grown Oranges

Lunch—the juice of 3 local ranges juiced in a Breville juicer

Tea—the juice of 4 local Oranges juiced in a Breville juicer

My body is feeling more limber and flexible, I am really appreciating the beat in music, I am in Love with my local Oranges, they are loving and naturally grown and I just need to pick them up from his wee stall, put some dollars in the honesty box, and I have my nourishment.
I also got some Mandies for Cappi and a bag of Passion Fruit for Cappi from the same stall.

Love and Peaches to you all XX ♥
