♥ Day 61 Mono Orange Juice ♥

Day 61 ♥
Today was not quite as planned, I had intended to break my Orange juice diet today, but water fasted instead!
I was still having some elimination, and I just felt that I neeeded to water fast to aid my body, so my body would have more energy to help the elimination along. It seemed that the Universe was letting me know that it was not the right time to end the Oranges.

I am currently reading the biography 'April Fool's Day' by Bryce Courtenay. I have read his work before, including 'The Power of One' which I found to be an amazing book.
'April Fool's Day' is Bryce Courtenay's heart rendering account of his son's life and death. His son Damon died of AIDs when he was just 24 years old. Damon had haemophillia and had received contaminated Factor VIII in a blood transfusion.
In the book are Damon's words:

"And what I am trying to do is express them (the events associated with his illness) in a way that may make you think that what you have, the life you lead, is special, because you have one thing in common. Well, most of you anyway. You have your health. Please never take that for granted, because it is the greatest gift that will ever be given to you as a person. It allows you to choose the path you take in life. There are no limitations to what you can achieve if you have your health. There is nothing you can not do. Never forget that. If that is all you get out of reading this book, then I have achieved my aim."

It does seem rather easy to take our health for granted, and forget just how precious it is and how nothing else in life can really compare to the feeling of strength and well-being coursing through our veins.
And health, seemingly our birthright, can be taken away from us by accidents, toxins, mis-treatment of ourselves by others, genetics, and unnatural diets. And for some, like Damon, it can never really be 100% present if we are born with a genetic condition such as Haemophillia.

So, I feel very blessed and fortunate to have been able to follow a path that has given me such wonderful health and all the joys that good health brings with it, and to have lived with two healthy and happy children ♥
It must be the hardest thing in the world to see your child suffer with pain and ill health, and feel powerless to stop the pain and suffering.
So I give many thanks for finding a way of light and fruit that has brought me, and continues to give me, health and happiness ♥ Thank You ♥

Day 11.

Day 11

The organic Navels from Maleny were good, so good there is only one left!
The organic Blood Navels, need a bit of sweetening in the sun methinks, they have been picked a tad under ripe. So I am leaving them in the sun for a few days. I made some juice with them today in the Breville Juicer.

Then a friend of ours arrived today with 10kg of Navels that he grows on his small-holding.

That was lovely timing. heart
So there was quite the variety of Oranges to choose from.

Breakfast—the juice of 4 organic Navels, juiced through the mouth, the juice of 2 local Oranges, juiced through the mouth.

Lunch—the juice of 5 Blood Navels through the Breville Juicer.

Tea—the juice of 6 of my friend's Navels, juiced in my mouth.

It was a lovely sunny day today, after all the rain so I spent much time with Cappi in the garden.

The Pot of Gold

The rainbows here have been so amazing in the last few days, today we were on the bus travelling back from Maleny (an awesome alternative town in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland—where I always feel at home, and people are smiley and mellow) and there was this amazing rainbow across the valley.
I felt that I did indeed have the 'Pot of Gold' at the end of the Rainbow because I had bags of organic Oranges on the bus seat next to me! heart

We had a great Orange hunt; found Blood Navels and really delicious Organic Navels at the wholefood Co-op. The Organic Navels had won best in show at the recent Maleny Show, and they were indeed sweet as.

I have been having just so much energy today on the Oranges, I did my morning work out and the weights seemed lighter in my hands and I felt very flexible doing my sit-ups and crunches.

I am not sure how far I will ride this train, but I have a houseful of Oranges and I am definitely buzzing today.
I feel very happy too.

Toot Toot! The Orange Juice Train is Leaving The Station

I am boarding the Orange Juice Train.

I am very much looking forward to the journey with you all.
I have got in several bags of locally grown Oranges, from a nearby farm. Toot toot!

It is time... ... to catch the Orange Train.

Day 1

Morning—juice of 3 Oranges, using hand-juicer

—juice of 2 Oranges, juicing with mouth

Lunch—large cup of fresh-squeezed Orange juice from juice bar

Tea—2 Oranges, juiced in mouth.

Day 2

Today was very nice because I got to meet the man who is growing my Oranges. And when I go on a mono diet, I get very close to my chosen fruit.
We have been buying bags of his Oranges from his small farm, from a stall with an honesty box, at the side of the road.
Today we went up to the farm to talk with him.
I bought five big bags of his Oranges for only $2 a bag.

His Oranges are superb, really sweet and tree-ripened with lots of nice little 'ripe' marks on their skins.
He told us that he grows them really naturally—no sprays, fertilizers or chemicals—hurray!
And he is a really nice guy too. So good to connect with the grower of my nourishment.
A very beautiful aspect of living on the Sunshine Coast is year-round access to local, good quality fruit.
I guess the longer I love here the more lovely growers I connect with. This network of fruit lovers, enables me to thrive and I am eternally grateful to them heart

I had—
Breakfast— 5 Oranges juiced by mouth

Lunch— 3 Mandies juiced by mouth

Tea— 4 Oranges juiced with a simple hand-juicer.

Thank You

Love and Peaches,
from Anne XX

Day 4

Breakfast—the juice of 4 locally grown Oranges, juiced in hand-juicer

Lunch—Large cup of fresh Orange Juice from Juice bar

Tea—The juice of 4 locally grown Oranges, juiced in hand-juicer

By nice co-incidence, I got an old 1933 pamphlet in the post today. I had ordered it weeks ago, and almost forgotten about it.
Apparently the guy who sent it, sent it to Ohio instead of Australia, but luckily it got sent back to him. So it arrived via a rather circuitous route.
Anyhow, the booklet is called 'Fruits That Help Keep The Body Vigorous' .
I had no idea what fruits it was about—turns out it is all about the bounties of Citrus fruits. It mentions some studies, in the first part of the twentieth century, that found children given fresh Orange juice in addition to their normal diets, had far less gum disease and far fewer cavities.

Day 5
Breakfast—3 local Oranges hand-juiced, 2 local Oranges juiced in mouth

Lunch—4 Biodynamic Oranges juiced in Breville Juicer

Tea—3 local Oranges hand-juiced
Love and Peaches XX

Toot Toot!
Day 6
Having a great trip so far.

Breakfast—the juice of 3 local, naturally-grown Oranges

Lunch—the juice of 3 local ranges juiced in a Breville juicer

Tea—the juice of 4 local Oranges juiced in a Breville juicer

My body is feeling more limber and flexible, I am really appreciating the beat in music, I am in Love with my local Oranges, they are loving and naturally grown and I just need to pick them up from his wee stall, put some dollars in the honesty box, and I have my nourishment.
I also got some Mandies for Cappi and a bag of Passion Fruit for Cappi from the same stall.

Love and Peaches to you all XX ♥

Oh Bloody Good Juice!

One of the delights of Winter, for me, is the arrival of the Blood Oranges. Not too different on the outside from their cousins the Valencias, they hold a lush secret within.

The outside may be speckled with red or with red undertones; a little hint of what is to come.

Then cut or break into one and within is filled with deep red delights, more luscious than a ruby and filled with sweet life blood for us mortals.

The Blood Orange has more vitamin C than a standard orange and makes more juice than most other Oranges. It is a little juice bomb waiting to explode with flavour. When I lived in the Northern Hemisphere, I got beautiful Bloods from Sicily. The Scilians certainly know a thing or too about great fruit growing and I would go for their beautiful bloody oranges anyday in preference to their bloody Mafia.

Once I spent a month in Malta, close geographically, to Sicily and also a very beautiful island. Apart from two days, I spent the entire month living on Blood Orange juice. Now residing in the Southern Hemisphere, I appreciate that the Aussies have got their act together and are now growing some simply delightful Blood Oranges.

Do try them, a glass of Blood Orange juice looks so spectacular and always get comments such as "What's That!"

Build up your blood with Bloods. Leave the animal blood to the Vampire bats, go with the Fruitbats and drain the Blood Oranges dry!

Enjoy your Juicing,

Love from Anne XX.

Orange Juice and Me.

I guess that over the past few years a big part of my life has been the mighty Orange, in the form of fresh squeezed Orange juice.

During the past 17 years that I have been on the fruit diet I have had some cool times with O.J.

The first session was on a trip to Portugal in the Northern Spring 1993.

I spent 9 days living off tree ripened Navels and Wild Mandarins.

What I found was that my health excelled and I felt cleansed and rejuvenated.

Since then I have kind of gravitated towards Orange Juice ,rather than the whole fruit.

O.J just works better for me, personally.

In March 1995, I spent the Month in Malta, and apart for one or two days of mixed fruit, I lived off Sicillian Blood Oranges and their juice for the entire holiday.

I felt renewed and euphoric as if I walked with light and springy fairy steps.

The sun and light and beauty of Valetta, the capital, only enhanced my experience.

In the Summer of 1995, I went for 52 days on Orange Juice. This was a turning point in my fruitarian diet, afterwards I just felt that fruit was doing me so much more good. I never thought about this possible consequence when I started out on the juice. It was more of a deep feeling that came to me when I finished the 52 days.

What I did notice was that I needed to eat much less fruit, and especially more concentrated fruit; such as Avocados and dried fruit, to fulfill my energy needs .

I think that this may be because I cleansed my intestines and so was assimilating my fruit more efficiently.

Since then I have done a 26 day O.J fest in May 2007, 40 days for Lent in 2008 and I have just done 16 days in July 2008.
I am just getting so much from Orange juice at the moment, and I find that the more Orange Juice diets that I carry out, the less weight I loose and also the less juice I need to consume to stay healthy and happy.
When I am on juice I feel happy, invincable, strong; a fruit warrior, I feel a deep trust in the World and the Universe and a strong sense that Life really is Wonderful.
Love and fruitfulness,
from Anne XX.
