Day 51 Mono Orange Juice

Day 51 ♥
Today I went to a couple of local markets; one had good live music, the other good Oranges - so I was pretty happy.
Cappi got an all-fruit ice-cream from the Eumundi markets.
There is a guy there with a stall called 'Pulp Addiction' and he sells frozen fruit put through a Champion juicer. Cappi gets a large tub with Mango, Banana, and Pineapple, so he was a happy chappie too.
I found some small nicely ripe Biodynamic Valencias.
I was carrying two big bags of them when one of my bags split and there were little syrup balls rolling all around the pavement; some kind souls stopped to help me retrieve them before they rolled away into the road.

My tongue seems to be getting less coated, and my skin has gone nice and clear. A while back I was getting some elimination through the skin. I have found, however, that if I deep breath when I am getting elimination through the skin, the deep breathing helps to clear the skin.
I think because toxins are then being released more via the breathing and less through the skin. Also the extra oxygen is great for skin health, and helps speed up any elimination.

The sunshine has also been wonderful here at the moment; a great aide to elimination, skin health, and feeling wonderful.

Fruity Fare ♥
Morning - 10 syrup balls and 1 big Valencia, juiced in my mouth.

♥♥ Day 50 ♥♥

Day 50 ♥
Today was 50 days on the true Golden Nectar.
What, I find, is so wonderful about fruit is that one can live on it exclusively, even mono-style, for an extended period and yet feel wonderfully healthy ♥
The guy, Morgan Spurlock, who did an all-McDonald's diet had severe health consequences after just 30 days on his diet.
Similarly, I do not think there is another food, apart from sweet juicy fruit, that one could live on for an extended period and see an improvement in health.
Other foods eaten mono, may be able to support life for a while but not even come close to support a thriving life.
And thriving for me is what it is all about: thriving, wonderful, joyful health.

So, for me, a mono fruit diet enables a good deal of cleansing to occur whilst at the same time allows me to thrive and live my life in a beautiful way ♥

I got  a beautiful delivery of amazing Organic Valencias today from Maleny Organic Farmers' Market.
These folk sell all organic, grow much of their produce themselves, and  I am very grateful to them for bringing me a delicious big box full of Organic Oranges, for just a $2.50 delivery charge.
There were lots of the very small syrup balls in the box, so I had a great day, juice-wise ♥

Fruity Fare ♥
Morning - 11 small syrup balls, and 1 regular Organic Valencia, juiced in my mouth.
Late Morning - tried out new Oranges from delivery- 15 small syrup balls, juiced in my mouth.
Afternoon - 11 more syrup balls, juiced in my mouth.
These Oranges are about half, or less, the size of regular Oranges - but deliver about 10 times the flavour!

Day 49 ♥ Mono Orange Juice.

Day 49 ♥
We had another beautiful time at the beach today, at Bribie Island which I have never visited before.
The water was nice and warm with few waves, so ideal for swimming in.
The sea air felt very fresh and energising. My lungs feel freer and as if they can easily expand more with being on the Orange juice mono diet, so deep breathing the sea air is a real pleasure.
I read some more of Dick Gregory's book last night.
He embarked upon a fast for political reasons and social protest, in his own words:

"What began as an act of social protest - a political act - became in the process of living it a "purifying act" - in mind, body and spirit. As my body was was cleansed of years of accumulated impurities, my mind and spiritual awareness were lifted to a new level. I felt closer to Mother Nature and all her children. I felt more in tune with the universal order of existence."

In 1970 Gregory went on to do an 81 day fast on distilled water. And at the time of writing of his book (1971) he was on a fruit juice fast until the Vietnam War ended.
So what began for Dick Gregory as a reaction against war, changed his health and consciousness for ever.

Fruity Fare ♥
Morning - 11 small Organic Valencias, juiced in my mouth
Midday - 1 large fresh squeezed Orange juice, from a juice bar
Afternoon - 5 Honey Murcotts and 5 conventional Valencias, all juiced in my mouth.

♥ Day 48 ♥ Mono Orange Juice.

Day 48 ♥
Today I was blessed with a beautiful mix of Organic Oranges: some delightful, teeny-tiny syrup balls from a wholefood store in Maroochydore, some larger Valencias from a supermarket, and some very nicely ripened delights from Maleny.
I was also blessed with some great reading matter.
I  managed to find Dick Gregory's book, 'Natural Diet for Folks Who Eat: Cookin' With Mother Nature.'
I managed to pick up a first edition from 1971 for just $7 on Ebay.
Gregory was a well known comedian who turned his health and diet right around by going from 280lbs to just 97lbs after an extended water fast.
When he wrote the book in the late 60's/early 70's Gregory was on a fruitarian diet. I saw a more recent video of him speaking out against the factory farming of chickens.
I have just started his book, and it is written in a punchy and entertaining way. A great book to introduce folk to the raw way of life by using  personal experience combined with a good sense of humour.

I did not miss eating the Figs, sure I could appreciate that they were great quality ripe Figs, but I could appreciate more the wonderful Organic  Oranges that I had yesterday.
I feel that I would like to carry on for at least 52 days, to match my longest mono Orange Juice Diet so far, back in 1995.
And hopefully, I have a big Organic order arriving tomorrow full of juicy local Oranges ♥
Life is so abundant for me, and I need to fully appreciate the beautiful abundance in my life right now!

Afternoon - 2 Maleny Oranges, and 2 teeny-tinies, juiced in mouth.

Day 47 ♥ Mono Orange Juice.

Day 47 ♥
Cappi chose a great book the last time he went to the library.
It is called: 'The Digger's Club: The Australian Fruit and Vegetable Garden' by Clive Blazey and Jane Varkulevicius.
While it may be considered a little odd for a five year old to pick a fruit-growing book from the library, I guess a child raised on a natural diet is not your average library customer.

I was very grateful for Cappi's choice because this is an awesome book. Not only does it give lots of useful information on growing your own food, but it is really on the ball in regard to how Supermarkets and chemicals are greatly affecting our fruit quality and choices.

Here are a few of the paragraph titles:
Destroying Food Quality
showing how picking fruit unripe and treating fruit with chemicals vastly reduces its nutrient content and quality.

Ninety Percent of Fruit and Vegetable Cultivars Are Lost.
Shows how, for example, at the  turn of the 20th. Century there used to be three to four thousand Apple Varieties, but now they have been replaced by 4 or 5 main supermarket varieties. These supermarket varieties are always chosen for shelf life over flavour and quality.

The Tastiest Fruits Never reach Market.
Explains how important it is to rescue and grow the old heirloom varieties, rather than rely on the supermarket fruits that are selected for storage life.

Planting Fruit Instead of Flowers.
looks at how the fruit garden can be beautiful to look at as well as functional.
"Isn't a persimmon in autumn as exquisite as any magnolia in spring."

Quality of Life Begins at the Table.
This section looks at how people can become self-sufficient in food production and in doing so help rescue the precious heirloom fruits and vegetables.

A really great book, that is geared for Australian growers, in terms of specific advice for the different growing regions in Australia, but has got great information in it that is relevant to everyone who values great quality fresh produce.

We went to the beach today. It is so beautiful breathing the  fresh and vitalising briny air.
I did a fast walk from Cotton Tree beach to Alexandra Headlands and back, and it felt just wonderful.
I had the sea breezes in my lungs and the beautiful sun on my body ♥

As we were in the area, we went buying Figs from the best Fig grower we have found on the Sunshine Coast.
I looked at the plump and Jammy purple Figs, just starting to burst open (this grower is unusual in that they pick all their Figs perfectly ripe) but I was not quite ready to stop the Orange juice. The Figs have just come into season and will be around for the next two months.

Fruity Fare ♥
Morning—the juice from 3 conventional Oranges, juiced in a hand juicer.
Late Morning—a large cup of fresh squeezed non-organic Orange juice from a juice bar.
Afternoon—10 Organic Oranges, juiced in my mouth.

Day 47 Mono Orange Juice ♥

POEM

The Love of an Orange by Dahlia Ravikovitch

An orange did love
The man who ate it.
A feast for the eyes
Is a fine repast;
Its heart held fast
His greedy gaze.

A citron did scold:
I am wiser than thou.
A cedar condoled:
Indeed thou shalt die!
And who can revive
A withered bough?

The citron did urge:
O fool, be wise.
The cedar did rage:
Slander and sin!
Repent of thy ways
For a fool I despise.

An orange did love
With life and limb
The man who ate it,
The man who flayed it.

An orange did love
The man who ate it,
To its flayer it brought
Flesh for the teeth.

An orange, consumed
By the man who ate it,
Invaded his skin
To the flesh beneath.

Day 46 ♥
I am still experiencing good energy, improved range of movement in joints, and a general sense of health and happiness and well-being.
I have thought about stopping, but really at the moment there is no other sweet juicy fruit that is really appealing to me.
It is like I am in the Orange Zone. Satisfied and feeling nourished on Oranges. Also I feel that I am still cleansing, so I might as well carry on some more.

When I do an extended mono diet, especially Orange juice, it really does seem to free up mental energy and physical time for other things.
I am not expending any thought on what I shall eat each day. The time I am actually physically juicing my food is very short, I also do not think about food very much, it is definitely more eating to live than living to eat.
Although I really love and appreciate my Oranges, my diet does not figure, thought-wise and time-wise, in such a big way as it does when I am eating a mixed fruit diet.

Fruity Fare ♥
Morning—11 mixed size Biodynamic Valencias, juiced in the mouth
Midday—6 Biodynamic Valencias, juiced in the mouth
Afternoon—7 Biodynamic Valencias, juiced in the mouth.

Day 45 Mono Orange Juice ♥

Day 45 ♥
I have not been weighing myself or recording any statistics so far on this diet, so I thought I would today.
These statistics are from my Tanita Inner Scan Total Balance scales.
Before I started, my 'normal'  weight was around 50kg (110lbs), and my Muscle mass is usually around 38.5kg (84lbs), while my body fat percentage is around 15%.
Today on day 45 here are my statistics:

Weight ♥ 44.5kg (98lbs)

Muscle Mass ♥ 40.1kg (88lbs)

Total Body Water Percentage ♥ 65.8% (Average for females, according to Tanita is 45–60%)

Body Fat Percentage ♥ 5%

Visceral fat Rating ♥ 1 (how much fat is around the vital internal organs rating goes from 1–59, where 1 is the least amount)

Metabolic Age ♥ 12 (not bad for a 43 year old!)

Bone Mass ♥ 2.1kg (4.6lbs) Where the  average given for women under  50kg (110lb) is  1.95kg (4.3lb).

So my muscle mass has not actually decreased but has risen slightly, while my body fat appears to be where the loss has taken place.

I am still really enjoying my Orange juice.
I feel well and loose in joint and limb, I have plenty of energy and I am not really tempted by any other fruit.
I have though put a Mango Cheek, from Cappi's special Mango tree in the freezer, so I can get to taste it when my Orange juice diet comes to an end.

Fruity Fare ♥
Morning—11 Biodynamic Oranges (of various sizes) juiced in my mouth.
Later on in the morning—10 Biodynamic Oranges (of varying sizes) juiced in my mouth
Afternoon—6 Biodynamic Oranges, juiced in my mouth.

Fruitful Exercise ♥
40 minute workout
1 and a half hours gardening
20 minutes fast walking.

Have Glorious Days ♥
